We had a nice camping trip with family and friends last month. I decided to enter a couple of the photos in the Florida State Parks monthly contest. I had both photos chosen. The snail was a lucky site along a winding trail in the northwest Florida backwoods -- about a half mile from Krul Lake (and just a skip and jump from my mom's stomping ground of Baker). In the other photo, Jackson is perfecting his jumping dives in the lake, constantly splashing anyone in his path. Then he makes a beeline for the yellow paint-peeled ladder and hops back to the long grayed decking for another pose. This is iconic summer for me - high noon sun with blistering heat and kicked up humidity. It's perfect for swimming, splashing, and shooting photography!
Enjoy my studies and ramblings on art... bookmaking, printmaking, sketchbooks, photography, and my love of my local stomping ground,
