When I read about this exhibit, "Fruits, Vegetables, and all Things Still," I knew I had something to say... Artel is seeking an "edgy" interpretation of the still life. Artel provided the following guidance for the theme, Kurt Anderson once said, "When I paint a still life, I want it to be anything but still. I want it to shimmer with light. I want it to rustle with movement." I jumped at the chance to create "Produce-d Monster" and "Pig in a Poke." These works were inspired by my experiences in working with local farmers and my time in the food industry. Come visit me at the Reception on Friday, September 7, 6-8 pm. The exhibit is open Aug 28 - Oct 4. Artel is located at 223 Palafox Place in the Old Escambia County Courthouse Pensacola, FL 32502. Gallery hours are 10 am - 4 pm, Tues - Sat.

This is a new and ongoing series near and dear to my heart, home, ole Santa Rosa County, FL. "Native Santa Rosa," features images photographed in my local stomping ground. Sometimes the most under-appreciated things and places are the ones we pass from our car each and every day. I love my hometown. It is a hidden gem of rich roots in agriculture, milling, and beautiful sandy white beaches. Our county offers so much, especially for those who love nature. Hope you enjoy. Framed and single prints are available for purchase. See on my site or in person, at Alyssa's on Chumuckla Hwy in Pace, FL, booth #188.
Enjoy my studies and ramblings on art... bookmaking, printmaking, sketchbooks, photography, and my love of my local stomping ground,
