In "My Disciples Love," the artwork captures that unique aura seen in those full of faith and as described in John 3:34-35. Sometimes I can't quite put my finger on it, but when you look for love, you can just see it. We live in a half empty world, but Jesus fills each of us on every day of our journey. How can we put more good out there and to keep our eyes open for His love?
As seen in the "Love Can Move Mountains" design, we are familiar with this old adage time and time again, but it falls short of the full message. The adage is based on the message in 1 Corinthians 13:2. Actually "moving of the mountain" is the easy part; doing it with love is where the richness enters. When I began my education, I was in goal-oriented mode, charging to completion because the real world was waiting for me. Actually, this set a pattern in my life of rushing through things. You see, the essence of letting new knowledge settle within you is a beautiful thing, thereby allowing the breadth and depth of life to expand. This has brought awareness of how all things are possible in God, when our works are done in love.
The design for "He Dwells in Me," is connected with Galatians 2:20 and really drives home the idea of a daily dying. I ultimately have to get up each and every day to make decisions about what to do with things. It's imperative to know that He gives us all these things and the real beauty is when we can freely give of these things... It's really a shift in viewing "all that is".. is in fact, His. I get to give it all away.
"Everything in Love" is inspired by 1 Corinthians 16:14. The message is simple, be full of love in everything you do. I hoped these cards could inspire others to not only give these to friends and family on Valentines Day, but to also reach out to someone that needs a positive message or to rekindle or rebuild old friendships. For two weekends leading up to Valentine's week, over 125 cards were purchased by members of the First United Methodist Church of Milton and the generous donations will support the Pregnancy Resource Center in Milton. Funds raised also include a matched 5 hours of service time for a project at the Center. Now that is a vision of love.
